Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F) has issued a recall for over 254,000 SUVs as the company’s recall woes continue to raise questions about the company’s quality control practices.

Ford Issues Fresh Recall

Ford recalled the 2022-2025 Lincoln Navigator and the 2025 Aviator. Ford also recalled the 2024-2025 Nautilus. Other than the Lincolns, Ford also recalled the 2025 Explorer SUV.

The issue affects over 254,640 units and stems from a defect with the Image Processing Module A (IPMA), which may unexpectedly reset and result in a loss of the rearview camera image.

The issue also affects ADAS features like “pre-collision assist, lane-keeping assist, and blind-spot monitoring,” the NHTSA acknowledgment said. Ford dealers will update the IPMA free of charge, or the issue will be fixed via an Over-The-Air (OTA) software update.

Ford’s Lone Recall-Free Model

Interestingly, a report by SlashGear on March 20 suggests that nearly all but one of Ford’s vehicles have been issued recalls since 2020. The Ford GT, which is currently discontinued, has been recall-free, save for an issue with a valve on the rear wing that affected only two models across the entire product line.

Earlier Recalls, EV Pivot

The Detroit-based automaker had earlier issued a recall for over 604,533 vehicles of the 2020-2022 Ford Explorer and Escape SUVs, as well as the Lincoln Aviator and Corsair product lines, over an issue affecting the vehicles’ rear windshield wipers.

Meanwhile, the automaker’s sales also dropped 5.5% in February. Ford sold over 149,962 units in the U.S. market last month and the automaker’s YTD sales during February stood at 285,324 units, which was 5.4% lower than 2025’s 301,619 units sold.

Ford scaled back on its EV endeavors, sunsetting the F-150 Lightning EV Pickup truck in favor of extended range electric vehicles (EREVs), but reaffirmed its commitment to developing electric vehicles as it touted its Universal EV Platform.
