U.S. stocks were higher, with the Dow Jones index gaining around 700 points on Friday.
Shares of Autoliv Inc (NYSE:ALV) rose sharply after the company reported better-than-expected first-quarter financial results.
Autoliv reported quarterly earnings of $2.05 per share which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $1.89 per share. The company reported quarterly sales of $2.753 billion which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $2.605 billion.
Autoliv shares jumped 8.4% to $120.77 on Friday.

- Rackspace Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ:RXT) gained 15.4% to $1.54. Rackspace Technology will announce first quarter 2026 earnings on May 7.
- SCHMID Group NV (NASDAQ:SHMD) gained 15.3% to $6.39.
- Mega Fortune Co Ltd (NASDAQ:MGRT) surged 14% to $120.00.
- Camping World Holdings Inc (NYSE:CWH) jumped 12.6% to $8.18.
- Corvus Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ:CRVS) gained 11.4% to $16.75. Goldman Sachs analyst Paul Choi initiated coverage on Corvus Pharmaceuticals with a Buy rating and announced a price target of $40.
- Alaska Air Group Inc (NYSE:ALK) jumped 10.8% to $45.61. Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi declared the Strait of Hormuz fully open to all commercial vessels for the duration of the ceasefire in a post on social media X on Friday.
- YD Bio Ltd (NASDAQ:YDES) gained 10.7% to $5.87.
- Strategy Inc (NASDAQ:MSTR) gained 10.6% to $164.81.
- United Airlines Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:UAL) jumped 10.1% to $104.59. Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi declared the Strait of Hormuz fully open to all commercial vessels for the duration of the ceasefire in a post on social media X on Friday.
- Southwest Airlines Co (NYSE:LUV) surged 9.3% to $44.39.
