Investor Ross Gerber of investment firm Gerber Kawasaki has touted Tesla Inc.‘s (NASDAQ:TSLA) as a handy tool amid worsening air quality due to wildfires and an increasingly severe climate crisis.
Tesla’s Bioweapon Defense Mode
The Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ:TSLA) investor took to X on Saturday, touting the company’s “bio weapon defense mode,” which “works great,” the investor said. He outlined that the vehicles’ High-Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters clean “the bad air in your car.”
He added that the system “works in a few minutes,” but said that the system was not available on most Tesla vehicles, calling it one of the EV giant’s “best features.”
The investor, who is also a staunch supporter of climate issues, earlier urged people to switch to an all-electric vehicle, touting the move as a win-win situation as “You save money, get a better car and the world is a little better off!” He said.
Gerber also lamented the emergence of frequent wildfires and other extreme weather events, calling the phenomena the “new climate normal” and warning people to “be prepared” for similar situations in the future.
Gas Prices to Hit $4 This Week
Meanwhile, Gerber’s urging people to switch to EVs could have some merit, as GasBuddy analyst Patrick De Haan took to X on Sunday, warning that the surging oil prices on the global market could result in higher prices at the pump.
The West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude was up over 2% to $84.34/bbl at press time and Brent crude crossing $90/bbl at the time of writing this article — would result in the national average price of gas to “hit $4/gal either tomorrow or Tuesday,” adding that the situation would also result in hikes in gas prices across “most states.”
According to data collected by the American Automobile Association (AAA) on Sunday, the average price for a gallon of gas was $3.9980, with California residents paying the highest average price at $5.4380/gallon on Sunday. Indiana continued to have the cheapest gas, at an average price of $3.3600/gallon.
Iran War Updates
On Sunday, the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced it had conducted fresh strikes on Iranian targets, constituting the ninth consecutive day of U.S. attacks on Iranian assets. President Donald Trump said that three U.S. service members had been killed in the recent fighting.
