Cardano (CRYPTO: ADA) founder Charles Hoskinson on Monday called President Donald Trump “disgusting” but said a Harris administration would have been worse for crypto because Gary Gensler would still be running the SEC.

What Hoskinson Actually Said About Trump?

Hoskinson listed his grievances on his AMA on X, saying he hates the Iran war, hates the corruption, and finds Trump’s $1.4 billion in crypto earnings deplorable.

“Trump is a bad, disgusting, deplorable human being,” Hoskinson said. “But he’s a man bereft of philosophy outside of Trump good, everyone else bad,” he added.

Despite that, he said Paul Atkins is a genuinely good SEC chair who understands the industry and wants it to flourish, and the reversal of Biden-era enforcement is a real net positive regardless of how the current administration behaves otherwise.

Why Hoskinson Says He Is ‘Politically Homeless’

Hoskinson said he agrees with neither party and described himself as politically homeless.

He pushed back on the idea that supporting the crypto-friendly administration means endorsing everything Trump does, calling out what he described as death cult loyalty on both sides.

“Every single thing they do, you have to say is right,” Hoskinson said, referring to both Republican and Democratic voters. “They own you. You’re in chains.”

He also said the Clarity Act will probably not pass, echoing a view he said is not cynical but simply reflects how Washington works.

When Trump’s adversaries see how much he personally benefits from the bill passing, blocking it becomes the obvious political move.

What Hoskinson Said About Cardano And Midnight

Midnight City’s first beta wave starts this week, with thousands of users entering in tranches over the coming days.

Hoskinson described it as the most interdisciplinary project his team has ever built, bringing together agentic trading, privacy infrastructure, and multi-chain signatures across both Cardano and Midnight networks.

Laos, Cardano’s Layer 2 scaling solution, is live on the Musashi testnet and tracking toward mainnet in November. Hoskinson called it probably the best work his company has produced.

On RealFi, he said the project now runs independently under the RealFi Foundation led by John O’Connor and sits as the most likely Cardano product to hit $1 billion in total value locked within the next 12 months.
