U.S. stocks were mixed, with the Dow Jones index gaining around 300 points on Tuesday.

Shares of Sherwin-Williams Co (NYSE:SHW) rose sharply after the company reported better-than-expected second-quarter financial results and raised its FY26 guidance.

Sherwin-Williams reported quarterly earnings of $3.70 per share which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $3.52 per share. The company reported quarterly sales of $6.789 billion which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $6.602 billion.

Sherwin-Williams shares jumped 7.8% to $352.89 on Tuesday.
