Bloom Energy Corp. (NYSE:BE) shares are gaining during Friday’s premarket session as traders digest a four-year backlog debate tied to AI data-center power demand. Here’s what investors need to know.
- Bloom Energy shares are consolidating. What’s ahead for BE stock?
What Is Bloom Energy’s Catalyst for Growth?
On the company’s second-quarter earnings call, CEO K.R. Sridhar pushed back on the idea that multi-year backlogs are automatically bullish, saying "a four-year backlog is not a trophy; it’s a confession of constrained supply" in an AI-driven market where "time to power is really time to token revenue."
Bloom also said it’s an approved power provider for all major U.S. hyperscalers and cited a financing step-up from Brookfield, which increased its commitment to finance Bloom deployments to $25 billion from $5 billion.
Critical Technical Levels for BE Stock
From a trend perspective, the stock is sitting in a messy intermediate setup: it’s trading 2.7% below its 20-day SMA, 16.4% below its 50-day SMA, and 5.6% below its 100-day SMA, but still 22.8% above its 200-day SMA—often a sign of a longer-term uptrend going through a digestion phase.
Momentum looks more "reset than broken" with RSI at 45.30, which measures how stretched a move is and currently points to neutral-to-slightly-soft demand rather than an overbought or washed-out condition. The 20-day SMA being below the 50-day SMA keeps near-term pressure on rallies, even though the 50-day SMA remains above the 200-day SMA, which is typically a constructive longer-term backdrop.

Key turning points line up with that story: the stock put in a swing high in June (also the 52-week high month), then a swing low in July, and it also broke below support in July—so bulls generally need to prove they can reclaim moving-average resistance before the chart looks "clean" again.
- Key Support: $216.00 — a nearby pivot area that’s essentially being tested around the current price, making it an immediate line in the sand for dip buyers
