WeRide Inc. (NASDAQ:WRD) shares rose Monday after the autonomous-driving company partnered with GreenMobility to pursue commercial shared-mobility services in Denmark.
Denmark Robotaxi Launch Targeted For 2027
The companies aim to launch public service in the first half of 2027, subject to regulatory approvals. Riders will be able to request trips using WeRide’s GXR, an EU-compliant Level 4 fully autonomous vehicle.
The partnership combines WeRide’s autonomous-driving technology with GreenMobility’s local fleet-management and shared-mobility expertise.
The companies said they would be the first to pursue a commercial autonomous-mobility deployment in Denmark.
Regulatory Collaboration And European Expansion
The project will be developed with public-sector involvement and in coordination with the Danish Road Directorate and Danish Road Traffic Authority.
All testing and deployment will comply with Danish and European Union regulations.
Denmark becomes WeRide’s sixth European market and its first in the Nordic region, following recent expansion into Spain and Slovakia.
The rollout supports WeRide’s asset-light expansion model, which relies on partnerships with local mobility operators and fleet owners.
"This partnership marks WeRide’s first entry into the Nordic region and another important milestone in our European expansion," founder and CEO Tony Han said.
WeRide operates autonomous-driving products in more than 40 cities across 12 countries and has a Level 4 fleet of more than 3,000 vehicles. GreenMobility operates more than 1,500 electric vehicles in the Nordic region.
