U.S. stocks were higher, with the Dow Jones index gaining around 500 points on Tuesday.

Shares of Caterpillar Inc (NYSE:CAT) rose sharply during Tuesday’s session after the construction and mining equipment maker reported second-quarter 2026 revenue and raised its full-year sales outlook.

Adjusted EPS of $8.17 beat the $5.71 estimate, while sales and revenues of $20.5 billion topped the $18.358 billion estimate.

Caterpillar shares jumped 8.3% to $899.00 on Tuesday.
