MaxLinear Inc. (NASDAQ:MXL) shares rose on Tuesday after the company expanded its AI infrastructure strategy through separate collaborations with Everspin Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ:MRAM) and Core Micro Systems.

MaxLinear, Everspin Explore AI Memory Architecture

MaxLinear and Everspin signed an MOU to evaluate next-generation AI server architectures.

The systems would combine Everspin’s persistent MRAM with MaxLinear’s compression, encryption and hardware acceleration platform.

The companies will assess metadata management, log data, write buffering and cache functions. The work addresses larger datasets, expanding key-value caches and rising data movement across AI servers.

The MOU also covers technical validation, market development for hyperscale cloud and enterprise customers, and potential manufacturing, supply and commercialization opportunities.

Core Micro Systems Selects Panther V

Separately, Japan-based Core Micro Systems selected MaxLinear’s Panther V platform for its next-generation storage infrastructure.

CMS will pair the Panther Storage Accelerator with ZFlush hardware-accelerated OpenZFS to improve compression, encryption and deduplication performance.

The system aims to increase throughput, reduce latency and lower CPU utilization, potentially reducing capital and operating costs.

CMS plans to deploy Panther-based storage solutions across Asia for AI, cloud, hyperscale and enterprise customers.

The companies cited forecasts projecting the Asia-Pacific data-center storage market will approach $25 billion by 2030 and represent about 4.2 million racks.

MXL Technical Outlook: Key Levels And Momentum

MXL remains in a strong long-term uptrend, gaining 371.28% over the past year. However, momentum has cooled since the June peak and July support breakdown.

The stock trades 7% below its 20-day SMA of $77.73 and 16% below its 50-day SMA of $86.05, creating overhead resistance on rebounds.

Still, MXL remains 10.1% above its 100-day SMA of $65.65 and 74.4% above its 200-day SMA of $41.44, keeping the broader trend constructive.

The 20-day SMA is below the 50-day SMA, a bearish crossover that may limit rallies until short-term momentum improves.

RSI stands at 45.19, indicating neutral momentum and possible consolidation.

  • Key Support: $67.50 — near the 100-day SMA and a prior buying zone.
