Micro cap stock T3 Defense Inc (NASDAQ:DFNS) has been on a volatile ride since late July, with the stock soaring before a short report took some momentum away. Just how popular was T3 Defense with investors? The stock was the most-searched ticker on Benzinga Pro for the last week of July.

Most-Searched Ticker: DFNS

For the month of July, the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (NYSE:SPY) and Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) ranked first and second as the most-searched tickers for the month.

While it didn’t rank among the 12 most-searched tickers for the full month of July, T3 Defense may bear special mention for investors as the stock did something not often seen for Benzinga.

The defense and aerospace stock ranked as the most-searched ticker on all of Benzinga Pro for the last week of July (July 24 through July 31).

Searches for DFNS were around twice as high than for Tesla during that week. Searches for DFNS were nearly 50% higher than for the SPY.

DFNS Stock Soars

Several items have helped put T3 Defense in the spotlight of investors. The company reported its subsidiary Industrial Techno-Logic Solutions successfully delivered a custom composite materials production line to an Israeli manufacturer.

That news piece was viewed as helping the visibility on the company’s defense platforms.

The company also recently acquired a 60% stake in Project35, a move that could expand T3 Defense’s presence in areas like counter-drone and aerial interceptor technologies.

Shares soared during that last week of July and saw several trading halts likely related to a 1-for-125 reverse split.

The move was done to satisfy Nasdaq listing rules, while it also significantly lowered the float of the company. Low-float stocks have often times been volatile and popular short-term trading vehicles for retail investors.

With increased attention on the stock, T3 Defense announced performance milestones of two of its subsidiaries, Rimon and Tiltan.

Rimon had monthly revenue of $2.6 million in July 2026, a company record. The year-to-date revenue for Rimon stands at $5.25 million, already ahead of 2025’s full-year total of $4.6 million.

Tiltan has year-to-date revenue of $1.0 million, with a backlog of $1.5 million and $3.5 million in outstanding proposals awaiting conversion into purchase orders.

T3 Defense is a holding company, maintaining ownership over several aerospace, defense and software companies.

Short Report Crushes Momentum

Fugazi Research issued a short report on T3 Defense, alleging the company’s growth is driven by capital markets activity and equity issuance and not from company operations. The report highlights the company having $3.6 million in first quarter revenue versus a net loss of $26.3 million.

The short report suggests that the company will continue to post operating losses despite operating in a sector that is seeing strong growth and government contracts.

Fugazi Research suggests more dilution ahead for the company and highlights the reverse split ratio of 1-for-50 being changed to 1-for-125.

DFNS Stock Price Action

T3 Defense shares are down 28% to $44.11 on Tuesday versus a 52-week trading range of $3.70 to $335.00. The stock is up around 135% over the last month, but is down over 90% year-to-date in 2026.
