James Hardie Industries PLC (NYSE:JHX) on Thursday reported better-than-expected first-quarter financial results and raised its FY27 sales guidance above estimates.

James Hardie Industries reported quarterly earnings of 36 cents per share which beat the analyst consensus estimate of 32 cents per share. The company reported quarterly sales of $1.475 billion which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $1.395 billion.

James Hardie Industries raised its FY2027 sales guidance from $5.250 billion-$5.410 billion to $5.564 billion-$5.723 billion.

Aaron Erter, CEO of James Hardie, said, “In the first quarter, we delivered sales and adjusted EBITDA ahead of our original guidance. The above-market performance was driven primarily by strong double-digit sell-through in Siding & Trim, reflecting the success of our growth initiatives, underlying demand for our products, and lapping an inventory reduction from a year ago. Deck, Rail & Accessories delivered near double-digit sell-through alongside continued channel inventory normalization. In addition, Europe and Australia & New Zealand both experienced double-digit revenue growth.”

James Hardie shares rose 8.3% to trade at $30.32 on Friday.

  • Truist Securities analyst Keith Hughes maintained the stock with a Buy and raised the price target from $30 to $40.
  • Oppenheimer analyst Tyler Batory maintained the stock with an Outperform rating and raised the price target from $32 to $36.
  • Stephens & Co. analyst Trey Grooms maintained the stock with an Overweight rating and raised the price target from $33 to $34.
