Super Micro Computer Inc. (NASDAQ:SMCI) stock is surging during premarket trading on Monday, driven by investor optimism ahead of its fourth-quarter fiscal 2026 earnings report scheduled for Tuesday. Consensus estimates call for 88 cents in non-GAAP EPS on $11.45 billion in revenue. Nasdaq futures are up 0.10% while S&P 500 futures have gained 0.03%.
Strong Margin Projections Lift Sentiment
In a July 21 preliminary update, the company projected fourth-quarter revenue “near the low end” of its $11 billion to $12.5 billion guidance range. However, preliminary gross margins reached 15% to 17%, up from prior guidance of 8.2% to 8.4%. Management attributed the expansion to a “favorable customer and product mix.”
The company also reported “more than $60 billion” in new AI infrastructure orders.
Smuggling Probe Remains Under Scrutiny
On July 28, Taiwan prosecutors detained an Nvidia employee amid an investigation into alleged AI server smuggling to China, following the prior detention of two Super Micro employees.
Critical Price Levels To Watch for SMCI Stock
The stock is back above its 20-day SMA ($28.18), 50-day SMA ($31.86), and 100-day SMA ($30.01), while sitting just 0.3% below its 200-day SMA ($32.19). That "back at the 200-day" setup often acts like a decision point—either a breakout that resets the trend, or a rejection that keeps the longer-term downtrend intact.
RSI is the cleaner momentum read right now: at 54.53, it’s neutral, suggesting the move isn’t stretched and still has room to develop if buyers follow through.
The longer-term trend picture is still mixed-to-cautious because the 20-day SMA remains below the 50-day SMA, and the death cross (50-day SMA below the 200-day SMA) that formed in December 2025 is still in place. That said, the stock’s ability to reclaim the 50-day and press into the 200-day area is the kind of repair work bulls want to see after the recent swing low in July.
