Quantinuum Inc. (NASDAQ:QNT) and Oracle Corp. (NYSE:ORCL) announced a multi-year partnership Tuesday that will bring the Helios quantum computer to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), giving customers direct access to quantum hardware alongside Oracle’s GPU and high-performance computing infrastructure.
Enterprise Computing’s Next Phase
The system will be deployed at a U.S.-based OCI data center to support hybrid quantum-AI workloads targeting drug discovery, materials science, financial modeling and large-scale optimization.
“We believe the next phase of enterprise computing will be shaped by bringing quantum, AI, and high-performance computing together,” said the president and CEO of Quantinuum, Rajeeb Hazra.
Major cloud providers are moving to add quantum computing to their infrastructure as enterprise customers increasingly look to access quantum and classical compute through a single platform.
Last month, IBM CEO Arvind Krishna said the technology could begin making a measurable impact on its revenue and profit by 2028 or 2029.
Oracle Joins AWS and Microsoft in Quantum Cloud Race
The deal makes Oracle the latest hyperscaler to formally add quantum hardware access to its cloud platform, following Amazon.com, Inc.‘s (NASDAQ:AMZN) Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Corp.‘s (NASDAQ:MSFT) Azure, which already offer multi-vendor quantum access through Braket and Azure Quantum, respectively.
Quantinuum’s hardware is already available through Azure Quantum, while Oracle’s tie-up extends the company’s cloud distribution.
Deal Comes Two Months After Quantinuum’s IPO
In June, Quantinuum made its Nasdaq debut, when the company raised $1.68 billion in an upsized IPO priced at $60 a share, valuing it near $15.7 billion.
Oracle plans to preview its OCI quantum service in the coming months, the companies said, giving developers a path to move from simulation to execution on real quantum hardware.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Price Action: Oracle fell 3.69% on Tuesday to close at $145.48 and recovered some of those losses in early pre-market hours on Wednesday to gain 1.85%.
Benzinga edge rankings show Oracle stock has a Momentum score in the 6th percentile and a Growth score in the 95th percentile.
