Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Ltd. (NYSE:TSM) stock rose nearly 2% Wednesday as chip stocks benefited from a firmer market. The Nasdaq gained 0.9%, while the S&P 500 rose 0.3%.
Major U.S. indexes traded higher Wednesday. The Russell 2000 gained 0.4%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average edged up 0.1%.
The stock also remains near its 52-week high. That could keep buyers interested if pullbacks remain limited.
Taiwan Semiconductor July Revenue
Taiwan Semiconductor also entered Wednesday with strong fundamental momentum. The company said Monday that July revenue jumped 44.7% year over year to 467.58 billion New Taiwan dollars and rose 5.6% from June.
Revenue for the first seven months of 2026 climbed 37% to 2.872 trillion New Taiwan dollars. The company last month also raised its 2026 capital spending forecast to a record $60 billion to $64 billion as strong AI chip demand continues.
Technical Analysis
Taiwan Semiconductor remains in a strong long-term uptrend. The stock trades 18.9% above its 200-day simple moving average of $362.18.
Shares are also 5.1% above the 20-day SMA of $409.76 and 1.2% above the 50-day SMA of $425.72. Those levels suggest the recent rebound has pushed the stock back above key intermediate trend lines.
However, the 20-day SMA remains below the 50-day SMA. That bearish crossover suggests the stock has not fully recovered from its recent correction.
Momentum has improved. The moving average convergence divergence, or MACD, is above its signal line, while the histogram is positive. That points to growing buying pressure.
Key resistance sits near $477, close to the upper end of the stock’s 52-week range. Support stands near $385.50.
