Advanced Research is a purpose-built eDiscovery tool for fact investigation that’s designed to tackle complex queries using agentic "deep thinking" reasoning to lean into challenging questions and deliver thorough responses to inform the best investigative strategy. Advanced Research does more than just find relevant documents; it uses agentic reasoning to speed up fact-finding and develop memos, create deposition outlines and timelines and deliver review-ready results within minutes.
"Litigators win by knowing the facts faster and better than the other side. That's the real edge Advanced Research brings – understanding your case and developing your case strategy before opposing counsel gets started," said DISCO’s Vice President, Product Management, Devin Kani. "Many legacy eDiscovery providers are still a generation behind – even with their latest releases. Litigators today need agentic tools that offer more than just the ability to chat with their data. Advanced Research is different. It works through huge volumes of data and surfaces the insights that actually matter to a case team. We built it to help litigators find the facts faster and turn complex eDiscovery into a clear path to winning the case."
Since early access began this summer, customer engagement has more than doubled. Users with Advanced Research are asking twice as many questions on average compared to those who aren’t in early access, highlighting the value and results it can deliver for them and their customers quickly in their own secure space, without having to export their data to another platform.
"Advanced Research is a powerful tool, and even in our early stages of using it it has yielded significant breakthroughs for us in discovery," said Chris Bateman, Partner at Cohen Milstein. "I can easily see it becoming a regular part of our document review workflow across other cases."
Instead of just giving a quick result, Advanced Research reviews its own findings, decides what’s missing and runs new searches to build a more complete and well-supported answer, searching for both exact keywords and the general meaning of the initial prompt. The enhancement to DISCO’s AI-enabled technology platform is designed to tackle large data sets and return significantly enhanced results, making deeper, more granular connections with subsequent prompts or queries.
