CoreWeave Inc. (NASDAQ:CRWV) shares are trading marginally lower Friday morning as traders continue to digest strong second-quarter results and a massive backlog update.

What Catalyzed CoreWeave’s Strong Q2 Results?

The company posted second-quarter revenue of $2.58 billion versus the $2.56 billion estimate and an adjusted loss of $1.03 per share versus expectations for a loss of $1.22 per share. It also reported a revenue backlog of $104 billion and said that figure excludes more than $25 billion of additional customer commitments added early in the current quarter.

CoreWeave’s setup into the print also mattered because first-quarter revenue was roughly $2.08 billion (more than doubling from $982 million YoY), with adjusted EBITDA of about $1.16 billion and a 56% margin.

"CoreWeave reached an important inflection point this quarter as our scale began to translate into expanding operating leverage. Customer demand is accelerating, as enterprise adoption broadens and we continue to deepen our technology platform," said Michael Intrator, co-founder and CEO of CoreWeave.

"CoreWeave is built on the conviction that AI is foundational to every industry and that realizing its full potential requires a purpose-built platform. This quarter reinforced that conviction."

CoreWeave Stock: Critical Levels To Watch

From a longer-term trend perspective, the stock is still acting like a strong up-move that’s cooling off: at $106.20 it’s trading 29.3% above the 20-day SMA ($82.11) and 14% above the 200-day SMA ($93.10), which often leaves price vulnerable to sharp pullbacks if momentum fades. The nearest "line in the sand" is whether it can hold above the low-$100s area without slipping back toward the mid-$90s where multiple longer moving averages cluster.

MACD is the cleaner momentum lens right now: it’s above its signal line with a positive histogram, which points to improving momentum versus the prior downswing (in plain terms, it suggests selling pressure is easing). That said, the bigger-picture backdrop still includes the death cross that printed in July (50-day SMA below the 200-day), a reminder that the longer-term trend only recently started repairing after the July swing low.

  • Key Resistance: $122.00 — a nearby pivot/round-number area where rebounds can stall after an extended move above the major moving averages
  • Key Support: $103.00 — a nearby level where buyers previously stepped in, close to current price and a logical spot for dip-buyers to defend
