Virtus Investment Partners has converted two Zevenbergen mutual funds into actively managed ETFs, adding $207.8 million in combined assets to its ETF lineup.

The former Zevenbergen Growth Fund became the Virtus Zevenbergen Innovative Growth ETF (NYSE:ZINN), while the Zevenbergen Genea Fund was reorganized into the Virtus Zevenbergen Discovery Growth ETF (NYSE:ZDIS). Both funds have been managed by Zevenbergen Capital Investments since their inception in 2015.

As of June 30, the predecessor funds held $137.7 million and $70.1 million in assets, respectively.

QUICK CONTEXT: Growth Strategies Move to ETF Structure

The conversions give investors access to Zevenbergen’s concentrated, high-growth equity strategies in an ETF wrapper, with intraday trading, portfolio transparency and potential tax efficiencies.

ZINN will invest across market capitalizations and company life-cycle stages, targeting businesses with strong growth prospects. ZDIS takes a more early-stage approach, focusing on companies it believes have exceptional growth potential, often tied to technological advances.

The move also underscores the continued migration of established mutual fund strategies into the ETF market. Asset managers continually seek to modernize legacy products and expand distribution.

Virtus now adds two actively managed growth ETFs without launching entirely new investment strategies—effectively giving an established mutual fund franchise an ETF makeover.
