Super Micro Computer Inc. (NASDAQ:SMCI) stock traded lower Wednesday in premarket trading as investors continued to fade a recent rally.
The stock slipped even as S&P 500 futures gained about 0.4%. Renewed geopolitical tensions also pushed oil prices higher and weighed on parts of the equity market.
Super Micro shares have surged nearly 60% over the past month. Investors are now reassessing the company’s fiscal fourth-quarter results and comments about delayed customer deployments.
Adjusted earnings of $1.70 per share beat the 62-cent analyst estimate. However, revenue of $11.12 billion missed the $12.33 billion estimate.
Management said demand remains strong. However, data center readiness issues delayed some deliveries. Those constraints included power availability, liquid cooling installations and networking infrastructure.
The delays are important because Super Micro’s revenue can shift between quarters when large data center projects are not ready for deployment.
Super Micro Technical Analysis
Super Micro remains down 13.48% over the past 12 months. However, its intermediate trend has improved after the recent rally.
At $37.15, the stock trades 15.6% above its 20-day simple moving average of $31.92. It is also 16.5% above its 200-day SMA of $31.67.
Momentum has strengthened. The moving average convergence divergence indicator is above its signal line, while the histogram remains positive. That setup points to improving buying pressure.
However, the longer-term picture remains mixed. The stock still carries a “death cross” dating to December 2025, with its 50-day SMA below the 200-day SMA.
The low-$31 area remains a key support zone because it sits near several major moving averages.

Citigroup maintained a Neutral rating on Aug. 12 and raised its price forecast to $39. Goldman Sachs maintained a Sell rating and raised its price forecast to $34. Mizuho maintained a Neutral rating and raised its price forecast to $35.
