U.S. stocks traded mixed this morning, with the Nasdaq Composite falling around 150 points on Monday.

Following the market opening Monday, the Dow traded up 0.10% to 53,331.66 while the NASDAQ fell 0.63% to 26,014.67. The S&P 500 also fell, dropping, 0.30% to 7,651.26.

Leading and Lagging Sectors

Consumer staples shares jumped by 1.1% on Monday.

In trading on Monday, information technology stocks fell by 1.2%.

Top Headline

The Chicago Fed National Activity Index slipped to -0.08 in July from 0.06 in the previous month, indicating a slight deterioration in economic activity.

Equities Trading UP
           

  • CID HoldCo Inc (NASDAQ:DAIC) shares shot up 196% to $1.26.
  • Shares of Expion360 Inc (NASDAQ:XPON) got a boost, surging 133% to $7.99 after the company announced a $3.425 million acquisition of Eastern Louisiana Oil and Gas Exploration Prospect. The company announced the company commenced a $9 million offering of 2.117 million shares at $4.25 per share.
  • Sadot Group Inc (NASDAQ:SDOT) shares were also up, gaining 70% to $22.45.

Equities Trading DOWN

  • Flash Sports & Media Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:FLZH) shares dropped 71% to $0.28.
  • Shares of RF Acquisition Corp II (NASDAQ:RFAI) were down 29% to $41.10. Shares of RF Acquisition Corp II shares jumped 356% on Friday following SEC filings detailing the results of an extraordinary general meeting.
  • Knorex Ltd (NYSE:KNRX) was down, falling 24% to $0.39. KNOREX announced its FY25 financial statement includes its going concern intention.

Commodities

In commodity news, oil traded down 1.5% to $85.80 while gold traded up 1.1% at $4,731.30.

Silver traded up 0.1% to $69.565 on Monday, while copper rose 0.9% to $6.6435.

Euro zone

European shares were mostly lower today. The eurozone’s STOXX 600 fell 0.1%, while Spain’s IBEX 35 Index rose 0.4%, London’s FTSE 100 slipped 0.1%, Germany’s DAX declined 0.2%, while France’s CAC 40 fell 0.4%.

Asia Pacific Markets

Asian markets closed lower on Monday, with Japan’s Nikkei 225 falling 0.74%, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index dipping 1.89%, China’s Shanghai Composite declining 0.59% and India’s BSE Sensex dropping 0.22%.
