NVIDIA Corp. (NASDAQ:NVDA) said Monday that SpaceXAI will deploy its Vera CPUs to power the next generation of agentic artificial intelligence applications.
SpaceXAI is the artificial intelligence division of SpaceX (NASDAQ:SPCX).
The partnership will also expand SpaceXAI’s infrastructure for Grok. In addition, the company plans to bring NVIDIA’s accelerated computing technology into orbit through its first Starmind AI satellite.
Vera Targets Agentic AI Workloads
Agentic AI systems use CPUs to coordinate tools, run code, process data and manage simulations between model requests. SpaceXAI plans to use the NVIDIA Vera CPU to handle those tasks while keeping graphics processing units fully utilized.
Vera features 88 NVIDIA-designed Olympus cores and high-bandwidth LPDDR5X memory. The chip delivers up to 1.2 terabytes per second of memory bandwidth. NVIDIA said Vera can complete certain AI, reinforcement learning and data-processing tasks up to 1.8 times faster than x86 CPUs.
Mike Nicolls, president of SpaceXAI, said the technology should improve AI agent performance while allowing the company to extract more work from each watt of computing power.
Grok Infrastructure Expands
SpaceXAI will also expand Grok’s computing infrastructure with the NVIDIA Vera Rubin platform. The system combines computing, networking, data processing and software technologies.
The platform will support SpaceXAI as it scales toward gigawatts of computing capacity. It will handle AI training, reasoning and inference workloads across large data centers.
NVIDIA Technology Heads Into Orbit
SpaceXAI’s first-generation Starmind AI satellite will use an optimized Vera Rubin NVL72 rack-scale system. NVIDIA and SpaceXAI will adapt the architecture to meet the power, cooling, bandwidth and reliability demands of orbital computing.
NVDA Price Action: NVIDIA shares were down 1.88% at $210.68 at the time of publication on Monday, according to Benzinga Pro data.
