Snap Inc. (NYSE:SNAP) stock fell more than 3% Wednesday as investors pulled back from riskier stocks amid a broader market decline. The Nasdaq fell 0.26%, while the S&P 500 lost 0.44%.

Nine of the 11 S&P 500 sectors traded lower. Market breadth was also weak, with an advance-decline ratio of 0.2. Meanwhile, the Russell 2000 fell 1.1%, signaling pressure on smaller and more volatile stocks.

Technical Analysis

Snap remains under pressure from a longer-term technical perspective. The stock trades about 9.5% below its 200-day simple moving average of $5.81.

However, shares remain 4.4% above the 50-day SMA of $5.04. That suggests the stock’s intermediate-term recovery remains intact despite Wednesday’s decline.

The relative strength index stands at 48.86, signaling neutral momentum. Snap is neither overbought nor oversold.

Resistance sits near $6, while support is around $4.50. The stock’s 52-week low is $3.81.

The stock has fallen about 28% over the past 12 months. Its 50-day SMA also remains below the 200-day SMA, keeping the longer-term trend bearish. However, the 20-day SMA is above the 50-day SMA, offering a more constructive short-term signal.

Traders may watch whether Snap can reclaim its 20-day SMA of $5.39. A failure to do so could put the mid-$4 range back in focus.

Communication services ranked sixth among the 11 sectors Wednesday. The sector has also fallen 0.93% over the past 30 days and 1.19% over the past 90 days.
