Strategy Inc. (NASDAQ:MSTR) skipped Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) purchases for a second consecutive week between Sept. 8 and Sept. 13, using $139.3 million instead to buy back preferred stock.
What the Filing Shows
According to a Monday SEC filing, Strategy’s Bitcoin holdings remain unchanged at 845,050 BTC acquired at an average price of roughly $75,412 per coin.
The company spent $139.3 million of its USD cash repurchasing 1.42 million shares of its STRC (NASDAQ:STRC), with no purchases of STRF, STRK, STRD, or MSTR shares during the period.
Strategy still has $1.05 billion remaining under its digital credit securities repurchase program and $1 billion available for MSTR common stock buybacks.
The USD reserve holds steady at $5.10 billion, while the additional cash balance dropped to $1.30 billion from $1.44 billion the prior week following the STRC repurchases.
Why Two Straight Weeks Without Bitcoin Matters
As Benzinga reported last week, Strategy ended a two-month Bitcoin drought on Aug. 31 when Saylor posted “We’re Back” on X, buying 4,603 BTC for $370 million at an average of $80,382 per coin.
That single purchase brought net leverage to zero and looked like the start of renewed accumulation.
Two weeks later with no follow-through and no weekend orange-dot post from Saylor, the pattern from the summer months is starting to look familiar again.
The priority right now is clearly getting STRC back toward par at $100. Strategy has now repurchased $176.3 million of STRC over the past two weeks, drawing down its flexible cash pool rather than deploying capital into Bitcoin. Until STRC stabilizes, fresh Bitcoin purchases look unlikely.

- $146 — recent swing high, resistance above
- $117.04 — 50-day EMA, deeper support if band breaks
