On CNBC’s “Halftime Report Final Trades,” Jim Lebenthal, partner and chief market strategist at Cerity Partners, picked AstraZeneca PLC (NYSE:AZN),

Last week, Cambridge, U.K.-based AstraZeneca secured regulatory approval for a new breast cancer treatment while reporting strong Phase 3 trial data for its lung cancer and respiratory therapies.

In August, the Financial Times reported that Bristol Myers Squibb (NYSE:BMY) and AstraZeneca were considering a nearly $400 million merger.

Stephen Weiss, chief investment officer and managing partner of Short Hills Capital Partners, named Leidos Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:LDOS) as his final trade.

Supporting his choice, Leidos reported better-than-expected second-quarter financial results on Aug. 4 and raised its FY26 guidance. Leidos reported quarterly earnings of $3.26 per share, which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $2.91 per share. The company reported quarterly sales of $4.558 billion, which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $4.437 billion.

Liz Thomas, SoFi head of investment strategy, recommended US 10-year Treasury.

Joseph M. Terranova, senior managing director for Virtus Investment Partners, picked Expeditors International of Washington, Inc. (NYSE:EXPD).

On the earnings front, Expeditors Intl, on Aug. 4, posted better-than-expected second-quarter earnings. The company reported quarterly earnings of $2.03 per share, beating the analyst consensus estimate of $1.67 per share. The company reported quarterly sales of $3.502 billion, which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $2.888 billion.
