Bloom Energy Corp. (NYSE:BE) stock is surging on Wednesday as it continues upward momentum from Tuesday. Nasdaq futures are up 0.47% while S&P 500 futures have gained 0.26%.

The advance follows a rebound Tuesday morning, when buyers stepped in to buy the dip following Monday’s sell-off.

The drop on Monday hit high-multiple hardware and energy infrastructure plays due to sector-wide profit-taking. That profit-taking followed a software rotation spurred by artificial intelligence safety warnings.

Industry Essay Impact

Monday’s pullback in Bloom Energy occurred after Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei released an essay titled "We Must Pace the Frontier."

In the essay, Amodei called for an immediate slowdown in advanced AI capability development, warning that exponential gains without safety alignment could allow rogue AI swarms to compromise internet infrastructure within 6 to 12 months.

To avert catastrophic risks, Amodei proposed that frontier labs voluntarily pace model releases, permit embedded third-party safety evaluators, and establish coordinated training limits.

While tech leaders like Sam Altman and Elon Musk endorsed Amodei’s message, the prospect of an industry-wide development pause sparked fears of reduced capital expenditure across hyperscale data centers, directly impacting Bloom’s fuel cell growth thesis.

S&P 500 Catalyst

Driving Tuesday’s momentum and supporting Wednesday’s upside is Bloom’s upcoming inclusion in the S&P 500 index, effective Sept. 21.

Technical Analysis

Technically, the trend remains pointed higher: the stock is trading above its 20-day, 50-day, 100-day, and 200-day moving averages, with price about 15.8% above the 20-day SMA and about 36% above the 200-day SMA. That kind of separation usually signals buyers are still in control, but it also means pullbacks can be sharper if momentum cools.

The 20-day SMA is above the 50-day SMA, and the 50-day SMA is above the 200-day SMA, which is the classic "stacked" bullish alignment that trend-followers like to see. Zooming out, the chart also shows a recent swing high in June and a swing low in July, framing the current move as a rebound attempt inside a still-bullish bigger picture.

  • Key Resistance: $284 — a nearby round-number/pivot area where upside attempts can stall
  • Key Support: $247.50 — a recent pivot zone that sits below current price and can act as a first "line in the sand" on pullbacks

BE Stock Price Activity: Bloom Energy shares were up 2.90% at $266.88 during premarket trading on Wednesday, according to Benzinga Pro data.
