Nokia Corporation (NYSE:NOK) stock is trading higher by almost 6% during Wednesday’s premarket session. The move comes as broader market sentiment improves and Nokia tests a key resistance area.

Nasdaq futures are up 0.56%, while S&P 500 futures have gained 0.34%.

Nokia said Wednesday that more global telecom operators are advancing AI-RAN trials using NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA) Aerial RAN Computer. Its AI-RAN platform has delivered more than 20% improvements in spectral efficiency, with further software-driven gains planned for 2027 and 2028.

Separately, Nokia Defense and C3IA signed an agreement to support the digital transformation of U.K. defense operations. The companies plan to work on secure communications, private 4G and 5G, command and control, sensing, autonomous systems and edge computing.

Technical Analysis

At $10.40, Nokia is trading 2.1% above its 20-day SMA of $10.24 and 2% above its 50-day SMA of $10.25. However, the stock remains 13.1% below its 100-day SMA of $12.02. It is also 7.3% above its 200-day SMA of $9.74.

Momentum is improving. MACD is above its signal line, while the histogram remains positive. That points to stronger near-term buying momentum.

Still, the moving averages offer a mixed signal. The 20-day SMA remains below the 50-day SMA. Meanwhile, the 50-day SMA remains above the 200-day SMA following a golden cross in October 2025.

Resistance sits near $10.50, close to the 50-day EMA of $10.58. Support is around $9.50, near the 200-day SMA zone.

Analyst Outlook

Nokia carries a Buy consensus rating with an average price forecast of $17.

Rosenblatt initiated coverage Tuesday with a Buy rating and $15 price forecast. JPMorgan maintained an Overweight rating in June and raised its price forecast to $21. Argus Research upgraded Nokia to Buy in April with a $15 price forecast.

Benzinga Edge

Nokia has a Momentum score of 90.3 on the Benzinga Edge scorecard. Its Quality, Value and Growth scores stand at 43.28, 48.63 and 46.71, respectively.

The readings point to momentum as the stock’s strongest factor. Traders will be watching whether Nokia can break above the $10.50 resistance area.

The Spear Alpha ETF (NASDAQ:SPRX) has a 3.76% weighting in Nokia.

Price Action
