IREN Ltd. (NASDAQ:IREN) stock rose about 3% in Monday’s premarket trading, supported by a fresh bullish analyst call, strength in Bitcoin and a broader risk-on market backdrop.

Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) climbed about 4.9% over the past 24 hours, lifting sentiment across crypto-linked stocks. Meanwhile, Nasdaq futures gained 0.92%, while S&P 500 futures rose 0.68%.

Northland Starts IREN With $99 Price Forecast

Northland Capital Markets analyst Nehal Chokshi initiated coverage of IREN on Friday with an Outperform rating and a $99 price forecast.

Bitcoin’s latest rally is providing support for crypto-linked stocks, including IREN, which operates a Bitcoin mining business alongside its growing artificial intelligence infrastructure operations.

The cryptocurrency was up about 4.9% over the past 24 hours as investors continued to assess recent U.S. regulatory developments.

On Friday, crypto-linked companies also traded higher after the Commodity Futures Trading Commission submitted a proposal Thursday covering crypto asset transactions and markets, according to Benzinga Pro.

The move followed separate announcements from the CFTC and Securities and Exchange Commission. Together, the developments signaled continued regulatory activity after the Clarity Act failed to advance in the Senate.

Technical Analysis

IREN remains above several key moving averages.

The stock is trading well above its 20-day simple moving average of $41.83 and its 50-day SMA of $40.38. It is also above its 200-day SMA of $45.54.

However, the 50-day SMA remains below the 200-day average after a death cross formed in August. That keeps the longer-term technical picture mixed.

Still, shorter-term momentum has improved. The 20-day SMA is above the 50-day average. Meanwhile, the MACD is above its signal line, and the histogram remains positive.

Resistance sits near $49, while support is around $46.

Analyst Outlook

IREN carries a Buy consensus rating and an average price forecast of $81.18.

Northland initiated coverage with a $99 price forecast on Sept. 18. JPMorgan upgraded the stock to Overweight and raised its price forecast to $65 on Sept. 14. BTIG maintained a Buy rating and an $80 price forecast the same day.

Benzinga Edge

IREN has a Benzinga Edge Momentum score of 45.82, placing it in neutral territory.

The improving technical setup suggests momentum is rebuilding. However, traders may watch whether the stock can break above nearby resistance and remain above its 200-day moving average.

Price Action

IREN shares were up 2.91% at $48.04 in Monday’s premarket trading, according to Benzinga Pro data.
