Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ:TSLA) has confirmed that the upcoming Roadster reveal event, set to take place on October 1st, will be deferred to October 15.
Unfavorable Weather
In a post on X on Monday, Tesla’s official handle confirmed the delay. “We’ve been tracking the weather closely with local meteorologists, but given the severe conditions predicted & because this event can only be held outdoors, we’ve made the difficult decision to reschedule,” the EV giant said.
Tesla added that the event would be held on October 15 and that the automaker will provide additional details on the event in the coming days. Tesla had earlier reopened reservations for the Roadster again, charging prospective customers $50,000 to reserve their unit.
Notably, reports in August suggested that the Roadster could possibly offer a "cold thrust system" that is used by Musk-led Space Exploration Technologies Corp. (NASDAQ:SPCX) during the landings of the Falcon 9 rocket.
On the other hand, Musk, speaking at an appearance on the All In Podcast a few weeks ago, teased that the Roadster reveal would be a memorable event.
Price Action: TSLA shares declined 0.44% to $355.88 during overnight trading on Monday.
