Jefferies Raises Its Bloom Energy Price Target to $264
Jefferies analyst Julien Dumoulin-Smith kept a Hold rating on Bloom Energy in place while pushing the price target up to $264 from $229, a jump of more than 15%.
Dumoulin-Smith argued the case for Bloom’s on-site power generation business remains intact despite setbacks on some projects. The analyst pointed to a $25 billion financing arrangement tied to Brookfield, a $2.65 billion firm order from AEP and an expected 2 gigawatts of installed capacity by year-end as evidence that the company’s near-term growth story remains on track.
The analyst drew a distinction on where the actual risk lies, noting that delays affecting Bloom’s Jupiter and Vineland projects stem from permitting hurdles involving air, water, gas and local sign-off, not from any pullback in customer interest or funding availability. Because a meaningful chunk of revenue rests on a handful of projects still working through disputes, Dumoulin-Smith said the stock could see bumpy trading tied to headline-driven developments.
The analyst summed up his overall take as Neutral, describing a scenario where the underlying growth story stays solid but gets offset by permitting delays, project-level friction and the added uncertainty that comes with revenue concentrated in a few contested developments.
The analyst update comes after other recent Street updates, including RBC Capital on Monday maintaining Outperform and keeping a $335 target, while Mizuho on Sept. 14 maintained Outperform and raised its target to $351 from $242. Benzinga’s consensus on Bloom Energy stood at a Buy rating with a consensus price target of $282.18 as of Tuesday, with targets ranging from $176 to $351.
The move also comes after Bloom Energy shares slid on Monday as investors took profits after the stock’s sharp 2026 rally, with lingering concerns tied to Oracle’s Project Jupiter weighing on sentiment. Participation looked elevated Tuesday, with 9.6 million shares traded by 10:25 a.m. ET versus a 100-day average of 14.3 million shares per full session.
