Scienture Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ:SCNX) on Friday announced that three leading U.S. pediatric academic medical centers added its proprietary hypertension medication to their formularies.
These specialized hospitals, which focus on treating children with severe and chronic medical conditions, now offer Arbli (losartan potassium) Oral Suspension, 10 mg/mL to their patients.
“The opportunity is particularly compelling given Scienture’s high gross margins, providing significant operating leverage as we continue to expand Arbli’s market penetration,” said Narasimhan Mani, President and Co-CEO of Scienture
“We believe the combination of expanding institutional adoption, increasing wholesale orders, and a highly attractive market opportunity provides a strong foundation for continued growth," Mani commented.
Enhancing Patient Compliance and Healthcare Access
Arbli serves as a proprietary oral suspension of losartan potassium designed for patients who experience difficulty swallowing conventional tablets.
The medication primarily targets pediatric and geriatric demographics.
Healthcare professionals often face challenges with individualized dosing, especially in pediatric care. Historically, this required extemporaneous pharmacy compounding, which introduces variability and inconvenience into the treatment process.
Arbli eliminates this hurdle by delivering a consistent, scalable, and pre-mixed treatment option.
The medication treats hypertension in adults and pediatric patients six years of age and older, offering flexible dosing without requiring specialized pharmacy preparation.
Addressing Substantial Losartan Market
The oral suspension directly addresses a massive and highly established U.S. losartan market. Industry data from April 2026 indicates that this market generates approximately $219 million in annual sales and accounts for roughly 72 million prescriptions each year.
Moving forward, the company plans to pursue additional hospital and institutional formulary opportunities across pediatric healthcare settings.
The firm remains focused on expanding commercial and government payer coverage, increasing pharmacy availability, and enhancing distribution networks to maximize patient access nationwide.
In the second quarter, the company expanded Arbli payer coverage and commercial access, adding approximately 12.5 million covered lives.
SCNX Price Action: Scienture Holdings shares were down 0.34% at $0.17 during premarket trading on Friday. The stock is trading near its 52-week low of $0.17, according to Benzinga Pro data.
