Super Micro Computer, Inc. (NASDAQ:SMCI) stock rose nearly 4% Friday as investors favored large-cap technology and artificial intelligence-linked hardware stocks.

The Nasdaq gained 1.01%, while the S&P 500 rose 0.73%. The technology sector advanced about 1%.

Super Micro’s gain came during a broad risk-on session. Ten of 11 market sectors were higher, while advancing stocks sharply outnumbered decliners.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.45%, while the Russell 2000 rose 0.95%.

Super Micro also outperformed the broader technology sector. That relative strength suggests investors were showing greater interest in the stock rather than simply buying technology shares across the board.
