U.S. stocks traded mixed this morning, with the Nasdaq Composite gaining over 50 points on Monday.

Following the market opening Monday, the Dow traded down 0.08% to 51,137.71 while the NASDAQ jumped 0.26% to 27,262.05. The S&P 500 also rose, gaining, 0.17% to 7,735.79.

Leading and Lagging Sectors

Information technology shares jumped by 0.4% on Monday.

In trading on Monday, consumer discretionary stocks fell by 0.3%.

Top Headline

PTC Inc. (NASDAQ:PTC) stock traded higher Monday after Schneider Electric SE (OTC:SBGSY) agreed to acquire the industrial software company for about $22.6 billion in cash.

Equities Trading UP
           

  • Columbus Acquisition Corp (NASDAQ:SAIQ) shares shot up 426% to $9.73. On Friday, WISeQey Corp.’s subsidiary WISeSat.Space disclosed the completion of its previously announced business combination (reverse SPAC merger) with Columbus Acquisition Corp. (CAC) on Oct. 1, 2026.
  • Shares of Nft Ltd (NYSE:MI) got a boost, surging 233% to $2.98. NFT recently announced a $36 million offering of 80 million shares at $0.45 per share.
  • HeartBeam, Inc. (NASDAQ:BEAT) shares were also up, gaining 63% to $0.7088 after the company received FDA breakthrough device designation for heart attack assessment.

Equities Trading DOWN

  • VCI Global Ltd (NASDAQ:VCIG) shares dipped 37% to $0.86.
  • Shares of Sunshine Biopharma Inc (NASDAQ:SBFM) were down 31% to $0.46.
  • Flux Power Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:FLUX) was down, falling 28% to $0.4637. Solidion Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ:STI) responded to the decision of the board of Flux Power to reject Solidion’s previously announced acquisition proposal.

Commodities

In commodity news, oil traded down 1% to $90.22 while gold traded up 0.5% at $4,184.30.

Silver traded up 2.6% to $61.985 on Monday, while copper rose 1.1% to $6.6225.

Euro zone

European shares were mostly higher today. The eurozone’s STOXX 600 jumped 0.5%, while Spain’s IBEX 35 Index rose 1%, London’s FTSE 100 rose 0.5%, Germany’s DAX climbed 0.3%, while France’s CAC 40 fell 0.6%.

Asia Pacific Markets

Asian markets closed higher on Monday, with Japan’s Nikkei 225 surging 2.40%, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index gaining 0.28% and India’s BSE Sensex rising 0.66%.

Economics

The S&P Global Composite PMI will be released today.
