Spotify Technology S.A. (NYSE:SPOT) on Wednesday announced a major global expansion of its audiobook catalog at the Frankfurt Book Fair.
By the end of 2026, the streaming giant will broaden audiobook access from 22 markets to more than 180, reaching an estimated 750 million potential listeners worldwide.
Users in newly added markets will gain access to more than 350,000 titles spanning over 120 languages.
Spotify currently offers about 700,000 audiobooks on its platform. The company is also working with more than 300 publishers worldwide to expand the number of titles available across markets, TechCrunch reported.
Spotify said that over the last year, monthly listeners of audiobooks grew by 40% and listening hours increased by 30%.
The company’s Audiobooks+ service, which was launched in July 2025, has surpassed one million subscribers and $100 million in annual recurring revenue.
Features and Multiple Access Points for Audiobooks
With a Premium subscription, users can listen to 12 hours of audiobooks every month in countries including Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Poland, Chile, Norway, and Peru.
Listeners can also purchase an Audiobook+ stand-alone subscription to get access to titles for extra hours each month. Alternatively, users can buy individual titles directly.
The service also has a “Page Match” feature, which lets users to move between print, e-book, and audio.
Spotify Technical Analysis
Spotify is trading 0.4% above its 20-day SMA ($511.24) but 0.6% below its 50-day SMA ($516.40), which frames the current action as a tug-of-war between short-term stabilization and intermediate resistance.
The stock is still 2.9% above its 100-day SMA ($498.72) and 2.8% above its 200-day SMA ($499.22), keeping the longer-term structure constructive even after a choppy year.
RSI is the cleaner momentum read right now: at 51.03, it’s neutral, suggesting the rally isn’t stretched and price is still in “prove it” territory rather than a momentum chase.
The moving-average backdrop is mixed: the 20-day SMA remains below the 50-day SMA (a bearish short-term alignment), but the golden cross from September (50-day above the 200-day) still argues the bigger trend can reassert if price can reclaim the 50-day area.
From a levels perspective, traders are watching whether the stock can build acceptance back above the $516 zone and then work toward higher pivots.
- Key Resistance: $565.00 — a round-number area that can act as a natural stall point if the rebound extends
- Key Support: $508.00 — a nearby pivot just under current price that sits close to the 20-day trend area
