Visa Inc (NYSE:V) shares are moving higher Monday. Baird raised its price target on the stock. Here’s what you should know.
- Visa stock is approaching key resistance levels. Why is V stock breaking out?
Baird Raises Visa Price Target to $430 Ahead of Earnings
Baird analyst David Koning stuck with Outperform on Visa and added $10 to the price target, taking it to $430. Koning forecasts a small beat on both fourth-quarter revenue and earnings. Shares could wobble a bit if analysts cut their fiscal 2027 sales and profit estimates, Investing.com reported.
Wall Street’s average target for Visa is $425.60, according to Benzinga data, which shows a consensus Buy rating and individual targets ranging from $350 to $466.
Koning Expects Slower Growth in Fiscal 2027
Koning projects fiscal 2027 sales growth near the top of the high single digits, or in the low double digits, a step down from about 14% in fiscal 2026. Part of the drop comes from acquisitions and currency moves, which no longer add a 1% lift.
Value-added services should lose steam as well, with growth sliding from 30% toward the low 20s. The World Cup and Olympics boosted fiscal 2026, the analyst noted.
Koning believes any short-term dip will be mild and brief. Koning still pegs Visa as a 2027 standout, with the best odds if investors favor dependable growth and an economy that holds up.
Visa Stock Looks Overbought After Recent Run
The stock sits 14.03% higher than a year ago and has risen since bottoming at $293.89 on April 1. Monday’s rally pushed the relative strength index (RSI) to 71.1, a reading that marks the stock as overbought.
Visa is trading above all three of its key moving averages: the 20-day at $369.58, the 50-day at $370.24 and the 200-day at $338.34. That alignment points to strength at every time horizon. One caution: the shorter 20-day average still trails the 50-day.
Other momentum gauges look healthy. The MACD indicator has climbed past its signal line and into positive territory. Traders can watch $365.50 as the first level for support on any pullbacks.
V Shares Are Rising
