Dogecoin (CRYPTO: DOGE) is down 4% while Shiba Inu (CRYPTO: SHIB) dropped 10% over seven days as meme coins struggle — with PENGU (CRYPTO: PENGU) the only exception.
DOGE And SHIB Bleeding
Dogecoin is down 87% from its $0.74 all-time high reached May 8, 2021.
It’s down 2% in 24 hours and 11% in 30 days.
DOGE started 2026 near $0.118, fell to $0.102 by February, and continues declining.
Technically, DOGE is trapped in a descending channel with the Supertrend firmly red and Chaikin Money Flow reading -0.18, signaling institutional money is exiting.
The upper Bollinger Band near $0.1036 forms key resistance while the lower band around $0.0889 acts as nearest support.
Meanwhile, Shiba Inu is in worse shape. SHIB has shed over 20% over 30 days, and 40% over 90 days.
The PENGU Double Breakout Setup
PENGU presents a contrasting technical picture. On the daily chart, Bollinger Bands are squeezing hard with upper band at $0.007405 and lower band at $0.006384. The bands are visibly narrowing around current price.
A Bollinger squeeze of this magnitude historically precedes explosive directional moves. With price sitting right at the lower band, the probability of an upside breakout is significantly elevated.
The 2-hour chart adds conviction. PENGU formed a textbook symmetrical triangle since the February low of $0.0055, coiling tighter toward the apex.
Two converging forces—the triangle breakout setup and the Bollinger squeeze—are compressing simultaneously. This is a rare, high-conviction signal.
The Comparison
DOGE needs to reclaim $0.11 just to neutralize bearish pressure.
The Crypto Fear & Greed Index sits deep in “Extreme Fear” territory with Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) tumbling toward $65,000, creating headwinds for memecoins.
SHIB faces structural challenges beyond technicals. With 589.2 trillion tokens in circulation, a price of $1 per token would result in a market cap of $589.2 trillion—greater than the estimated $123.6 trillion global economic output in 2026.
The community’s token-burning campaign has been far too slow to meaningfully alter the equation.
PENGU just needs a squeeze to pop and the spring is already loaded.
