Telegram is making a return to the Apple Watch with a native app that brings messaging, media playback and other core features back to Apple Inc.'s (NASDAQ:AAPL) smartwatch platform.
Telegram Launches Native Apple Watch App
On Tuesday, Telegram founder Pavel Durov announced the launch on X, writing, “A fully native Telegram app for Apple Watch is out.”
The app lets users view and reply to messages directly from their wrist, while also supporting voice messages, stickers, location sharing, GIFs and video playback.
To sign in, users scan a QR code using Telegram on their iPhone and, if enabled, enter their cloud password for verification.
Telegram Returns To Apple Watch After Years Away
Telegram first introduced an Apple Watch app in 2015 before discontinuing support and removing it from the platform several years later, 9To5Mac reported.
Since then, users have largely relied on notifications or third-party alternatives.
Price Action: Shares of Apple closed Tuesday down 3.64% at $290.55 and edged up 0.19% to $291.11 in after-hours trading, according to Benziga Pro.
According to Benzinga Edge Stock Rankings, Apple scores in the 98th percentile for Quality, while maintaining a positive price trend across its short, medium and long-term trends.
