Equifax, Incorporated (NYSE:EFX) shares traded higher on Tuesday following the company’s agreement to acquire Círculo de Crédito for an enterprise value of $750 million.

Equifax Expands In Mexico

The acquisition expands Equifax into Mexico, the second-largest economy in Latin America.

It also adds the country’s fastest-growing credit bureau to Equifax’s international business.

Círculo de Crédito generated estimated revenue of $134 million for the 12 months ended June 30, 2026. Revenue rose 31%, with adjusted EBITDA of $62 million.

Equifax expects high double-digit revenue growth in 2026 and adjusted EPS accretion in the first full year of ownership.

Customer Base And Data Assets

Círculo de Crédito serves more than 1,700 customers and has 2 billion tradelines covering 80 million validated identities.

The company operates consumer and commercial credit bureau services in Mexico and uses alternative data, including gig-economy, utility, and telecom payment history.

Equifax said customers will gain access to its cloud-native capabilities, EFX.AI technology, identity protection, and fraud prevention offerings.

Deal Terms

Equifax will acquire 100% of Círculo de Crédito’s equity from existing shareholders, including Banca Afirme, Coppel, Grupo Elektra, and private investors.

After closing, Juan Manuel Ruiz Palmieri and the Círculo de Crédito team will continue to lead the business as it joins Equifax International.

"The acquisition of Círculo de Crédito will expand Equifax’s presence in the fast-growing Mexico market and marks an energizing new global chapter for both companies," Equifax CEO Mark W. Begor said.

Equifax held cash and cash equivalents of $183.4 million as of March 31, 2026.

EFX Technical Outlook: Trend, Momentum, and Key Levels

The current price of Equifax is $170.00, which is significantly below its 200-day simple moving average (SMA) of $198.87, indicating a bearish trend.

In terms of momentum, the MACD is currently above its signal line, suggesting that downside pressure is easing, even if the overall trend remains negative.

This indicates a potential for improved momentum in the near term, but traders should remain cautious given the stock’s recent performance.

  • Key Resistance: $177.67 — This level is important as it aligns with the 100-day SMA, which could act as a barrier to upward movement.
  • Key Support: $150.75 — This is the 52-week low, and a breach below this level could signal further declines.
