Bloom Energy Corporation (NYSE:BE) shares are trading higher in Monday’s premarket session as traders position ahead of this week’s earnings report and lean into a risk-on tone.
Options markets are also bracing for a bigger-than-usual reaction, with double-digit implied moves flagged for several names this week.
Nasdaq futures are up 1.61% while S&P 500 futures have gained 0.98%.
What To Watch Ahead Of Bloom Energy Earnings
Investor attention is centered on expectations, positioning and the potential for an outsized post-earnings move following Bloom’s strong 12-month rally.
JPMorgan recently maintained its Overweight rating and raised its price forecast to $346 from $267, citing Bloom’s growth potential through 2030. However, the firm said new customer wins, supply-chain clarity and updates on major projects remain important for improving revenue visibility.
Options activity points to heightened caution. A bearish put sweep included about 2,100 Aug. 7 $200 contracts, compared with open interest of 442, with roughly $26,600 in premium.
The flow suggests traders are hedging against downside near the earnings release. Concentrated positioning around the $200 strike could also increase volatility if shares move sharply through that level.
The immediate test is whether the premarket gain holds after regular trading begins, particularly as the stock continues recovering from its June peak.
Bloom Energy Stock: Key Levels To Watch
Bloom trades 11.6% above its 200-day SMA of $176.35, preserving the longer-term uptrend. However, shares remain 19.6% below the 20-day SMA of $244.62 and 27.1% below the 50-day SMA of $269.86, reflecting continued intermediate-term pressure.
The 20-day SMA remains below the 50-day SMA, while the 50-day stays above the 200-day, signaling short-term weakness within a constructive longer-term trend.
Momentum also remains cautious, with MACD below its signal line and a negative histogram.
A sustained rebound would need to reclaim the 100-day SMA at $230.83. Failure to recover intermediate moving averages could leave the stock consolidating after its June high of $351.28.
- Key Resistance: $230.83 — aligns with the 100-day SMA, a common rebound checkpoint after a pullback
- Key Support: $176.35 — near the 200-day SMA, a key long-term trend line bulls often defend
