CEO Mark Zuckerberg highlighted the record while discussing WhatsApp’s growing role in Meta’s AI strategy, noting that the messaging app has become the leading platform where people interact with Meta AI. The company is also expanding AI-powered business agents across WhatsApp, with more than one million businesses already using them weekly to engage customers and complete sales.
Meta’s AI Ecosystem Keeps Expanding
The WhatsApp milestone came alongside several other engagement records across Meta’s family of apps.
Zuckerberg said Instagram now reaches two billion daily active users and Threads has grown to 500 million monthly active users. Meta AI also recorded daily active users jumped 60% following the rollout of the Muse Spark upgrade, underscoring how AI is driving engagement across the company’s platforms — not just within its standalone assistant.
