BigBear.AI (NASDAQ:BBAI) posted mixed second-quarter results after Thursday’s closing bell. Here’s a look at the details inside the report. 

BigBear.AI Q2 Details       

BigBear.ai reported quarterly losses of five cents per share, which missed the consensus estimate for losses of four cents, according to Benzinga Pro data.

Quarterly revenue came in at $36.75 million, which beat the $36.37 million analyst estimate.

BigBear.ai reported the following highlights from the quarter:

  • Expanded second quarter gross margins by 781 basis points from 25% to 32.8% year-over-year
  • Backlog increased 9% to $269.6 million between Dec. 31, 2025 and June 30, 2026
  • Total available cash and investments of $409.8 million as of June 30, 2026

“It has been another strong quarter. Double-digit growth, significant margin expansion and more than 20 new contracts show that the BigBear.ai leadership team is following through on our commitments,” said Kevin McAleenan, CEO of BigBear.ai.

“The second half of 2026 is all about execution discipline and positioning ourselves for accretive, catalytic M&A and building momentum for even stronger topline growth in 2027,” McAleenan added.

BBAI Stock Price Activity: According to data from Benzinga Pro, BigBear.AI stock was down 2.48% to $2.75 in Thursday’s extended trading.
