Peter Diamandis Backs Elon Musk’s Ambitious Target
During an interview with CNBC on Wednesday, Diamandis, who is an early investor in SpaceX, said that Musk was building “civilizational-level” infrastructure with SpaceX, but outlined that the challenge for the commercial space flight giant is that the market “knows how to value this company,” Diamandis said.
The investor then said that SpaceX was “four different businesses that are wrapped into a vertical.” He also outlined that Starlink would be capable of providing 1 gigabit per second internet speeds across the globe. Diamandis then highlighted SpaceX’s direct-to-device plans, which could represent roughly $600 billion in revenue potential, he said.
Diamandis also said that SpaceX was building AI infrastructure “faster than anybody else,” also touting $28 billion in annualized recurring revenue (ARR). “Elon said they’re gonna be launching their first AI satellite in partnership with NVIDIA in 2027,” Diamandis said.
SpaceX’s Rocket Stage Crashes Into the Moon
The comments come as the upper stage of a Falcon 9 rocket crashed onto the Lunar surface on Wednesday following 18 months in space. NASA said that the impact left a 60-foot-wide crater on the Moon, but reiterated that the incident posed no danger to the Earth.
Meanwhile, TV host Jim Cramer said that investors should think about where SpaceX could be in decades, rather than focusing on its short-term movement. He also said that the investment in SpaceX could pay off for investors’ children and grandchildren.
