Sandisk Corporation (NASDAQ:SNDK) stock edged higher in Tuesday’s premarket trading as investors weighed the stock’s longer-term uptrend against softer broader-market futures and fresh signals of tight memory supply.

The stock rose by less than half a percent before the open, even as Nasdaq futures slipped by less than half a percent and S&P 500 futures fell 0.05%.

The stock is still working through a sharp pullback from its 52-week high area, which could keep short-term trading flows active despite a muted futures backdrop.

NAND Supplier Remains In Focus

Sandisk ranks among the five largest global suppliers of NAND flash memory semiconductors.

The company operates a vertically integrated model spanning chip production through finished storage products, leaving it exposed to broader shifts in memory demand, supply and pricing.

That exposure puts Sandisk in focus as fresh industry commentary points to increasingly tight memory supplies, particularly as AI infrastructure drives demand for greater capacity and bandwidth.

Micron Comments Point To Tight Memory Market

Micron Technology Inc. (NASDAQ:MU) executives said at the KeyBanc Capital Markets Technology Leadership Forum 2026 on Aug. 10 that AI demand is reshaping the memory market, tightening supply and making DRAM more strategic for customers.

Sumit Sadana, Micron’s executive vice president and chief business officer, said AI has changed the memory cycle because customers need more DRAM capacity, higher bandwidth and more reliable supply across data-center, consumer and industrial markets.

Sadana said Micron now expects calendar 2027 to be tighter than 2026 as demand grows faster than industry supply. He also said many customers view DRAM as their biggest constraint, ahead of power, real estate, data-center space or logic wafers, while strategic customer agreements give Micron longer-term visibility and support capacity investments.

Technical Analysis

The bigger-picture trend is still constructive: the stock is trading about 40.6% above its 200-day SMA ($877.69), which keeps the long-term bias pointed higher despite the recent drawdown.

At the same time, it’s trading 10% below the 20-day SMA ($1371.25) and 26.5% below the 50-day SMA ($1680.02), a setup that often signals the stock is in a consolidation or repair phase rather than a clean uptrend.
