Intel Corp. (NASDAQ:INTC) stock extended its decline in Tuesday’s premarket trading after falling 4.06% in the previous session, as investors reacted to the company’s decision to price and upsize its common-stock offering to $20 billion from the initially announced $15 billion.
Intel Prices Offering At $95 Per Share
The company priced 210,526,315 shares at $95 each and granted underwriters a 30-day option to purchase up to 31,578,947 additional shares at the offering price, less underwriting discounts.
The offering price sits below Intel’s premarket quote of $96.34, adding near-term pressure as investors assess the potential dilution from the new share supply. The $20 billion raise follows Intel’s initial $15 billion offering announcement.
Intel expects the offering to close on August 12, 2026, subject to customary closing conditions. The company expects net proceeds of about $19.7 billion if underwriters do not exercise their additional-share option.
Intel plans to use the proceeds for general corporate purposes, including potential capital expenditures and working capital. Tech investor Dan Niles said the larger raise strengthens his view that Intel may be nearing major foundry customer deals requiring additional capacity.
Critical Price Levels To Watch For Intel
From a longer-term lens, the stock is still in a strong uptrend (up 372.25% over the past 12 months), but the intermediate trend has cooled after the June peak and the July swing low.
Price is now sitting 12.4% below the 50-day SMA ($110.18), a sign the recent pullback is still in control.
Momentum looks more “reset” than “washed out,” with RSI at 45.93, which is a neutral reading that often shows neither buyers nor sellers have a clear edge.
The bigger tell is positioning versus key averages: INTC is roughly flat-to-slightly weak versus the 20-day SMA ($96.68) but remains 40.1% above the 200-day SMA ($68.88), keeping the longer-term structure constructive.
- Key Support: $89.50 — a nearby level where buyers previously stepped in, and a logical line in the sand after the July breakdown
