Robinhood Markets Inc. (NASDAQ:HOOD) stock gained momentum on Thursday after the trading debut of Robinhood Ventures Fund II on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol RVII.
The Nasdaq is up 1.19% while the S&P 500 has gained 0.79%.
RVII Debut Details
The fund priced its initial public offering of 8,000,000 common shares of beneficial interest at $25 per share. The offering established an initial fund size of $225.5 million prior to sales loads and offering expenses. Underwriters hold a 30-day option to purchase up to 1,200,000 additional shares, which would raise total fund capital to $255.5 million. RVII operates as a business development company and closed-end fund targeting early-stage private companies.
Technical Analysis
HOOD is back above its key long-term trend gauges. At the time of coverage, it’s trading 4.8% above the 20-day SMA ($95.11) and 2.3% above the 200-day SMA ($97.52). This trajectory keeps the bigger picture constructive even after a choppy year.
The catch is the short-term trend is still a bit tangled, with the 20-day SMA sitting below the 50-day SMA—often a sign the stock has been consolidating rather than trending cleanly.
RSI is the cleaner momentum read right now. At 54.57, it’s neutral, suggesting the move is more "rebuild and grind" than an overbought breakout. In plain English, RSI helps gauge whether buying or selling has gotten stretched; in the mid-50s, it usually points to balanced momentum with room for either direction if price clears (or loses) key levels.
- Key Resistance: $112.50 — a nearby pivot area that can cap rallies if buyers can’t extend the move beyond recent overhead supply
- Key Support: $93 — a nearby floor that lines up with a prior buyer-defense zone and sits below the 200-day area, making it a key "trend health" check
HOOD Stock Price Activity: Robinhood Markets shares were up 5.08% at $99.73 at the time of publication on Thursday, according to Benzinga Pro data.
