Super Micro Computer Inc. (NASDAQ:SMCI) shares traded lower Monday amid broader weakness in technology stocks. The Nasdaq fell 1.17%, while the S&P 500 slipped 0.38% and technology was the weakest-performing sector, down 2.1%, weighing on momentum-driven server and AI infrastructure stocks.
Investors are also reassessing Super Micro’s fiscal fourth-quarter results. The company reported adjusted earnings of $1.70 per share, topping estimates of 62 cents, but revenue of $11.12 billion fell short of the $12.33 billion estimate. Management said demand remains strong, but data center readiness issues—including power availability, liquid cooling installations and networking infrastructure—delayed some deliveries.
Investigation Finds No Senior Management Misconduct
Separately, Super Micro Computer completed an independent, board-led investigation into export-control allegations. The review found no evidence that senior management knew of the alleged diversion scheme, nor did it find evidence of direct sales to restricted parties or impact on financial statements. The company was not named as a defendant in the March indictment, which involved two former employees and a former contractor. Super Micro Computer confirmed it took personnel actions against individuals who violated company policies.
SMCI Technical Setup: Key Support, Resistance and Trend
From a trend perspective, SMCI is still holding above its key moving averages, trading about 4.3% above the 20-day SMA ($33.08) and roughly 9.9% above the 200-day SMA ($31.39), which suggests the intermediate uptrend from the summer low hasn’t fully broken. At the same time, the longer-term backdrop remains mixed, as the 50-day SMA remains below the 200-day SMA, reflecting the "death cross" that formed in December.
Momentum is best explained by RSI, which sits at 53.71—neutral, and consistent with a stock that’s digesting gains rather than trending aggressively in one direction.
- Key Resistance: $36.50
- Key Support: $29
SMCI Stock Price Activity: Super Micro Computer shares were down 6.63% at $34.77 at the time of publication on Monday, according to Benzinga Pro data.
