Memecoins posted strong gains over the past week, with Pudgy Penguins (PENGU) token outperforming more valuable and popular cryptocurrencies.
‘Exciting’ Unlock For Square Sellers
PENGU surged 54% to become the most profitable large-cap memecoin over the last seven days. The native token of the popular NFT brand Pudgy Penguins is up nearly 50% in a month.
In addition to the broader cryptocurrency market rebound, the coin rallied following a cryptic message from Pudgy Penguins CEO Luca Netz about potentially taking the company public by 2027.
The post on X featured a pair of eyes, a penguin, a building and an “SOON” arrow.
Additionally, Pudgy Penguins’ official X account replied, “Well, well, well,” to Polymarket’s post that cryptocurrency whales are buying NFTs again in large numbers.
