Each week, Benzinga’s Stock Whisper Index uses a combination of proprietary data and pattern recognition to showcase five stocks that are just under the surface and deserve attention.

Investors are constantly on the hunt for undervalued, under-followed and emerging stocks. With countless methods available to retail traders, the challenge often lies in sifting through the abundance of information to uncover new opportunities and understand why certain stocks should be of interest.

Here’s a look at the Benzinga Stock Whisper Index for the week ending August 28:

Argan Inc (NYSE:AGX): The construction company saw strong interest from Benzinga readers during the week, which comes ahead of quarterly financial results. Analysts expect the company to report second-quarter earnings pre share of $2.64, up from $2.50 in last year’s second quarter, on Wednesday. The company has beaten eps estimates from analysts in 10 straight quarters. Analysts expect quarterly revenue of $300.6 million, up from $237.7 million in last year’s second quarter. The company has beaten analyst estimates for revenue in two straight quarters and in seven of the last 10 quarters overall. With a history of beating estimates and showing year-over-year growth, the stock could be one to watch. Shares dipped around 15% over the last week, but remain up 28% year-to-date, offering a potential buying point ahead of earnings.

Bloom Energy Corporation (NYSE:BE): The energy company and data center play saw strong interest during the week and shares traded higher by around 9% over the last five days. The increased interest could be due to a recent disclosure from Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) that her husband bought shares and options of the company. The disclosure shows 100 call options bought on two different occasions with each having an expiration date in June 2027. The disclosure also shows that 15,000 shares of Bloom Energy were bought with the purchases of the stock totaling between $1.5 million and $6 million. Already a popular stock due to its data center connections, Bloom Energy could see more interest due to Pelosi’s disclosure.

Heico Corporation (NYSE:HEI): The aerospace and defense supplier saw strong interest from readers, despite the stock trading around 5% lower for the week. The company recently reported third-quarter financial results with revenue and earnings per share beating analyst estimates. The company reported record net income, operating income and sales for the third quarter. Heico has now beaten analyst estimates for earnings per share in more than 10 straight quarters and beaten revenue estimates in eight straight quarters. Analysts have raised their price targets on the stock, which could make the post-earnings dip a potential buying opportunity.

IES Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:IESC): The electrical and infrastructure company is becoming a well-known data center play, which has shares up around 52% year-to-date. Shares fell around 10% on the week, which could provide a buying opportunity and comes after recent third-quarter financial results and a two-for-one stock split. The company’s Communications segment was up 51%-year-over-year in the recent quarter, citing strong demand for data center customers. The company’s infrastructure and commercial segments also reported strong data center related product sales and revenue.

BJ’s Wholesale Club Holdings (NYSE:BJ): The wholesale retailer saw analysts raise price targets after recent quarterly financial results, but shares were down this past week and are flat in 2026. This is despite the company beating analyst estimates for revenue and earnings per share and raising its earnings per share estimates for the full year. BJ’s highlighted increased gas sales during the recent quarter, with higher gas prices seeing members increasing visits to the company’s gas stations where they get a discount as part of their membership. Strong results in Texas for membership and new stores was also highlighted as part of the quarterly results.
