Zuckerberg’s Wealth Soars
The increase in Meta’s stock price Wednesday helped boost the net worth of Zuckerberg by $13.7 billion, helping bring him near his starting year total.
This took Zuckerberg’s overall net worth to $232 billion, ranking sixth worldwide, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
Zuckerberg is now down $1.3 billion in his net worth year-to-date, ranking as the richest person in the world to be down in net worth in 2026. Three of the top 10 richest billionaires overall are down year-to-date.
The $13.7 billion gain marked the highest daily gain among all the world’s richest and made Zuckerberg the only top 10 billionaire who was positive in net worth gains and losses Wednesday.
In fact, the top 10 billionaires lost a combined $40.35 billion Wednesday even with Zuckerberg’s gain factored in.
Zuckerberg now finds himself closer to Michael Dell, who ranks fifth with a net worth of $254 billion.
Meta’s Roller Coaster 2026
Meta stock trades slightly down on Thursday, giving back a portion of the previous day’s gains. With the latest move, the stock is down 0.1% year-to-date or nearly flat in 2026.
Wednesday’s share price was the highest for Meta since July, and also Zuckerberg’s highest net worth since that period when he was worth $241 billion.
Meta stock hit all-time highs in 2025 and has failed to hit new highs in 2026.
The stock saw a 2026 peak in late January before hitting yearly lows in March.
Shares rebounded into a rally in May followed by a drop in June ahead of the July rally. Meta stock now trades at its highest level since then, but the question is whether the latest rally can hold or if shares will continue the pattern of selling off on positive news.
