Momentum shifted back into the cryptocurrency market last week, with lesser-known tokens delivering powerful returns.

Akedo Makes Heads Turn

Akedo (AKE), a BNB Chain (CRYPTO: BNB) token, topped the charts after surging more than 250%. The coin surged to an all-time high of $0.1467 on Sunday but has since pulled back sharply.

AKE is the utility token of Akedo, a multi-agent AI framework designed to turn text prompts into playable video games. The token powers game creation, staking, governance and provides liquidity for new projects.

Notably, 2.11 billion AKE tokens, or 2.11% of the 100 billion total supply, are scheduled to be unlocked on Monday, according to DropsTab, potentially adding inflationary pressure.

Privacy-based token Zcash (CRYPTO: ZEC) also extended its bull run, gaining 41% over the week.

Hits and Misses

Market heavyweights, including Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) and Ethereum (CRYPTO: ETH), rose 5.5% and 6.8%, respectively, last week. Meme giant Dogecoin (CRYPTO: DOGE) rallied 6%.

It was a bittersweet week for cryptocurrencies. While the much-anticipated CLARITY Act failed to clear a key Senate vote, SEC efforts to create a regulatory pathway for trading tokenized U.S. stocks cheered the market.
