AI Strategy Remains In Focus
Accenture is entering a key stage of its artificial intelligence transition as it works to turn AI investments into faster growth.
Investors have questioned whether AI could disrupt Accenture’s labor-intensive services model faster than new AI-related work can replace traditional revenue.
Accenture shares had fallen about 32% in 2026 before Thursday’s move and remain well below their late-2021 record.
Sweet has described AI as a growth opportunity and has urged employees to increase their use of the technology.
Accenture Expands AI Capabilities
Accenture has supported its AI strategy through acquisitions and partnerships.
The company has completed about $4 billion of cybersecurity deals and plans to acquire British AI startup Faculty, Bloomberg reported Wednesday.
Accenture has also partnered with Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) (NASDAQ:GOOGL) unit Google Cloud and Anthropic as it expands its AI consulting and implementation capabilities.
Analysts Debate AI Growth Pace
Analysts remain divided over how quickly Accenture’s AI investments will translate into faster revenue growth.
Susquehanna told Bloomberg it remains cautious because systems integration and application development account for nearly half of Accenture’s revenue. Those areas could face disruption from AI.
William Blair analyst Maggie Nolan downgraded Accenture to Market Perform from Outperform in June. She cited, in part, the lack of meaningful revenue acceleration from AI-related work.
JPMorgan has taken a more constructive view of Accenture’s acquisition strategy. The firm said Accenture is following its established approach of acquiring important capabilities early and then scaling them into larger growth platforms.
