Cryptocurrency punters are increasingly betting that Space Exploration Technologies Corp. (NASDAQ: SPCX) will become a full-service U.S. mobile carrier next year.
SpaceX Mobile Plans in 2027?
Polygon (CRYPTO: POL)-based Polymarket currently prices in a 26% chance that SpaceX will launch a mobile phone plan in the U.S. by June next year, and a 43% chance by the end of 2027.

The odds shifted after the company agreed to acquire a nationwide portfolio of low-band spectrum licenses, positioning itself to compete with telecom giants such as AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T), T-Mobile Inc. (NASDAQ: TMUS) and Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE: VZ).
The deal covers up to 14 megahertz of paired spectrum and requires approval from the Federal Communications Commission.
Low-band spectrum travels farther and penetrates buildings more effectively than higher-frequency signals. SpaceX says combining these frequencies with its satellite network could deliver indoor and outdoor connectivity, addressing a persistent limitation of satellite-to-phone services.
‘Last Critical Piece’ of Spectrum Puzzle
SpaceX CEO Elon Musk deemed the move the “last critical piece” of the spectrum puzzle needed for SpaceX to provide complete phone coverage in the U.S. through Starlink Mobile.
Currently, Starlink Mobile operates as a satellite-to-cell partner service, offering basic direct-to-cell capabilities like texting and limited data in areas without conventional coverage.
Price Action: SpaceX stock closed 1.25% higher at $162.57 during Friday’s regular trading session, according to Benzinga Pro.
According to Benzinga’s Edge Stock Rankings, SPCX has shown a stronger price trend across short-, medium-, and long-term horizons
